My name is Audrey Pesnell. I was born in Singapore. I am fortunate to have lived in Bangkok, Thailand and Jakarta, Indonesia. I lived overseas for seven years before moving to Oxford, Alabama with my mother and siblings. My father is a drilling consultant in Vietnam, and my mother, Theresa Wade, is an elementary teacher at Oxford Elementary School. My younger sister, Sarah, just received her white coat in medical school, and my older brother, Jared, is designing medical tents for injured college athletes. I am very proud of my family.

My hobbies include painting and drawing. I am currently teaching visual arts and English at Oxford Middle School. I can see my students’ artistic abilities becoming more refined under my guidance, and it makes me feel like I can finally share my gift with others. I encourage my students to volunteer their skills to help our school.

I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Secondary ELA Education. I was hired by Oxford City Schools to teach 7th grade ELA in 2012. I graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2017 with a master’s in Instructional Leadership. I enjoy getting to know my students. Middle school is an exciting time!
