Oxford City Schools will open a new Oxford High School to serve the citizens of Oxford in 2010. The building which is currently under construction is designed to provide a modern twenty-first century education for Oxford's finest. There will be a magnificent columned entrance portico with an etched monument to Oxford High School. Surrounding the monument will feature a "Walk of Champions" made of engraved Brick Pavers.
Graduates, faculty, alumni classes, families, businesses, and friends of Oxford High School have the opportunity to participate in this project by purchasing individualized brick pavers of their choice. A 4 x 8 brick costs $100.00 or an 8 x 8 brick costs $200.00. A completed order form is required for purchase.
The completed "Walk of Champions" will be a source of pride for Oxford and Yellow Jacket fans everywhere. Continue to pledge your allegiance to OHS by being a member of the "Walk of Champions".

The Oxford City Schools Education Foundation was organized to support education in Oxford in a fashion that would give the greatest benefit to the most people. The Foundation Board recognizes that the teachers are on the frontlines of education.
Our mission and goal is to provide them with whatever is needed to make them the best they can be. Based upon the severe budget cuts bestowed upon the school system, the Foundation Board of Directors unanimously agreed to allocate $150 to each classroom teacher.
We extend our gratitude to the teachers for everything they do for our young people as they strive to enhance the educational process for all students in Oxford.

Beyond the four walls of the classroom lies an incredible, learning laboratory full of exciting, hands-on, real-world experiences. Therefore, the Oxford City Schools Education Foundation allocated $5,000 to each of the four elementary schools for the "Ponds for Kids" project. OES and Hanna's schoolyards have already been transformed into a dynamic outdoor learning laboratory for all 1,259 students in grades K-6.
A self-sustaining pond ecosystem was constructed in just one day at each site by students, teachers, and over 300 parents and community volunteers. Teamwork, responsibility, and stewardship were displayed as everyone rolled up their sleeves and worked together: moving dirt, transporting gravel, compacting soil, carrying a fire hose, lifting the liner, filling the pond, and planting aquatic plants. At the end of the day, the interactive habitat was complete. One 1st grade student stated, "Come look at our pond. We built it! We gotta take care of it." A special thanks to RC&D, Representative Barbara Boyd, and all who participated in this special event!
" A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops."
